Toad Suck Car Club awarded Clay Walker with their annual tool scholarship along with Cantrell Service Center in North Little Rock and NAPA.
Clay is a 2013 graduate of Vilonia High School and Auto Collision program at Conway Area Career Center. He will be attending the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton in the fall and majoring in Auto Collision and Repair with a minor in Business. Clay would like to someday have a classic automobile to restore one day.
The car club tries to award one tool scholarship each year with the funds raised from the car shows that are hosted in Conway. They pick a student that is a graduate of a Faulkner County school and the Auto Collision program at Conway Area Career Center. They also need to be enrolled and accepted into the Auto Collision program at UACCM. The value of the scholarship is approximately $1500.
Sarah Keathley, general manager at Cantrell Service Center was in attendance to help present the tools. Keathley donated the service cart and NAPA donated a few of the tools, with TSCC taking care of the balance of the tools. Cantrell Service Center is a NAPA Auto Care Center.
Keathley said she is excited when a young person is interested in entering the automotive care industry. She also invited Clay to visit the shop and meet their technicians.
Toad Suck Car Club hosts two car shows each year. The first is during Toad Suck Daze and is located in the parking lots of Covington Classic Autos and Toad Suck Harley Davidson.
The second show is held at the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds. This years fall show is on August 3. The August show is an indoor show at the expo center.
