September Minutes

Vice-President, Ken Hamacher conducted our meeting in the absence of President, Larry Jones.  Nineteen members and two guests were present. 

Ken introduced our guests, Rudy & Molly Villareeal.

Renee Gates read the secretary report.  Bill Helton made a motion to accept.  Don Searls 2nd.  Motion passed to approve minutes. 

Thomas Hudson gave the treasurer’s report.  This does not include all of the dues for 2017.  Donations of $64.00 were received at the snack area.  The club spent $117.00 for coffee/donuts.  The club had approved $125.00 to cover the cost of the food items for the meeting.  Buddy Hoelzeman made the motion to accept.  Bill Helton 2nd.  The motion passed to approve the report as read. 

Ken led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance.  

 Old Business

Don Searls gave a report on the State Car Club meeting on February 11 at the McGee Center in Conway.  Don had planned for approx. 120 and the estimated attendance was 160.  Those attending made positive comments regarding having a half-day meeting instead of all day.  The 2018 meeting is scheduled to be held at the Antioch Church meeting facility.  Don thanked those who assisted him in the setting up and cleanup of the facility.  At the meeting, 60+ car show flyers were distributed.  The StillKruzn site will have all of the car shows from the flyers received.

Ken presented the donations to the following club designated organizations:

Museum of Automobiles – Buddy Holezeman

Conway Ministry Center/Storehouse Food Pantry – Laura King, Storehouse Manager

Polio Plus – Thomas Hudson

Don mentioned that the month of April would be very busy with car events.  No car shows before our March meeting.

Don would like to set up a NSRA safety inspection for member’s vehicles.  The members discussed a date for the safety inspection and decided on next Saturday, February 18th at Bill Helton’s shop at 8:00 AM.   Members are invited to meet for breakfast at Hardies on Dave Ward drive at 7:00 AM.

New Business

Don Searls reminded the club that the StillKruzn car shows at Hendrix Village would resume the April 21st, time 6:00-8:00PM.  The show is held the 3rd Friday of each month thru October. ZaZa and Purple Cow will donate a portion of their sales 5:00-9:00 pm to the Food Bank.  The first year Don said there were approximately 20 vehicles; in 2016, the later shows had an average of 100 vehicles. 

Ken said his car club would sponsor a pre-1981 car show from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Beebe Sonic.  If you bring a car, Sonic will give you a ½ off discount on food.  The car hops choice for the one trophy presented each cruse night.  The cruse is held the last Saturday of the month April through October. 

 Alberta Bemis circulated a membership list for members check for updating/revising information. 

 Our guest/new member Molly Villareeal won the 50/50.
