July Minutes

President, Larry (Jones) called the meeting to order with 22 members present.

Renee (Gates) gave the secretary report.  A motion was made by Ken (Hamacher) to approve as read.  Jerry (Spradlin) seconded the motion.  The motion passed.

Thomas (Hudson) gave the treasurer’s report.

Old Business

Bill (Helton) is still taking orders for the club jackets. 

The 2017 Toad Suck Car Club show will be held July 29, 2017. 

Several members gave updates on car shows they attended.

CAMS car club is turning the VA car show over to Rolling Thunder Motor Cycle club. 

The local corvette show will be in November.

The last Saturday of the month Vilonia Cursers will host Greystone Sonic Cruse. 

Renee Discussed the Water for Christ car show at LifeSong Baptist church in Greenbrier on August 21st.  Brochures for Water for Christ were distributed.  Renee asked club members to agree to come to the event.

New Business

Eat Out will be at Jim & Alberta Bemis’ home on July 23rd.  The club will provide the shrimp, corn & potatoes.  Members will provide additional side dishes.  Ken (Hamacher) made a motion to provide $100.00 for the items the club will purchase.  Steve (Hamm) seconded.  The motion passed. 

Buddy (Hoelzeman) won the 50/50.

The meeting was adjourned.

August Minutes

President, Larry Jones called the meeting to order with 26 members present and one guest.

Renee Gates gave the secretary report.  The Vilonia Cursers will host the Beebe Sonic cruse; not the Greystone cruse.  Bill Helton made a motion to approve the minutes as read with the one revision.  Don Searls seconded the motion.  The motion passed.

Thomas Hudson gave the treasurer’s report.

Old Business

Thomas reported that the Conway Expo Center has been reserved for next year’s car show. 

Bill Helton thanked Jim & Alberta for opening up their home for our July “eat out” shrimp boil at their house.

Bill Helton has one jacket left; it was Don Barnett’s jacket. 

New Business

Several members gave updates on car shows.

Don Searls, Jim & Alberta Bemis are planning to attend the Frog Follies in Evansville, Indiana.

Don Myers discussed his son’s, Dr. Dave Myers, 1950 Chevrolet.  He took the car to the Salina, Kansas car show.  The custom-built car was one of 25 cars to win a trophy out of over 2,000 cars.

Jim Bemis suggested we have additional club activities to drive our cars.  Ken Hamacher suggested a drive to Mt. Magazine to see the changing of the leaves for fall.  Everyone agreed that this would be a good outing for our club.

 

The Dicky Shannon cruse will be held on October 22nd.  Additional information will be provided at the September meeting.

Don Searls won the 50/50 - $35.00.

The meeting was adjourned.

Been a while since one of these things has been sent out, so I have combined July and August meeting minutes... When I get minutes for September, I will send them out in another newsletter.
