Toad Suck Car Club has had an awesome year. We hosted two successful car shows, donated to charities, Museum of Automobiles, hung out at other cars shows, and just had a good time.
Now that we have wrapped up the 2014 season, it’s time to get 2015 scheduled. Both shows are scheduled again for the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds. Although, one thing will change this year. Many of you have asked, and we have finally answered. For 2015, we are adding a motorcycle class. This is something that we have never done before, but we have had bikes before. We will be enlisting some help to assist with judging, since we are mostly car people.
The dates for next year are May 2, 2015 and September 5, 2015. Mark your calendars and tell all your friends.
The Toad Suck Car Club wants to set a challenge up to all participants of this years car show. The show will be held on May 3, 2014 at the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds. We need to get the word out about this…
As you know, Mayflower, AR and Vilonia, AR sustained a good deal of damage during the storms/tornados on April 27, 2014. During our car show on May 3, 2014, we will accepting monetary donations to be donated to the Red Cross for storm relief. Toad Suck Car Club will be matching with a portion of the proceeds from the car show, up to $500.
This challenge is two fold… We want to see how much we can raise to help our neighbors and friends that have been affected, as there are people in the old car community that have been affected also. So the 2nd part of the challenge is getting others to match these donations also. Dr David Myers, a local orthodontist has already agreed to match it also, up to $500.
So if you are a local business, or just someone that wants to help make a difference, and would like to help out with this match challenge, please contact me at 501-269-1817 to let me know how you would like to help. This money will donated straight to the Red Cross to help with local storm relief, so it will stay in our communities.
They flyers for our 2014 shows are ready. Both of our shows this year are going to be held at the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds. As with our fall show the past couple of years, we will be able to put the first 100 or so cars registered inside the expo center.
That means, if it is raining – you will be dry. If it is hot – the a/c will be on. If it is cold – the heat will be on. Now that is the way to do a car show…

This past week has been a little unusual in the life of our car club. We have lost two of our longtime members.
First, was Jerry Nunn. Jerry was a founding member of TSCC back in 1985 when a bunch of guys got together to have a car show at Toad Suck Park. They formed the club that we know today. Jerry had been active in the club from the day that I joined, but the last few years, his health had not let me be as active as he wanted. He in just about every capacity of club officers through the years.
Next, Harrell Bates… Harrell joined TSCC around 1990 sometime. He served many years as president of the car club and was very active in the club. Harrell knew many car show goers around the state and helped take care of getting our awards and took care of a lot of the preparations for the car shows.
It is my hope that we set the same legacy for the car club for future members, as these guys have for us.
Both of these guys will be missed greatly by the car club. Our thoughts and prayers are with both families during this time.
2014 TSCC President
The flyer is up on the TSCC Events page for the 2014 Toad Suck Daze Car Show. We are moving it to the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds, so it will be indoors as our August show has been for the past couple of years.
We will be accepting pre-registration for this show, but it must be received by April 18, 2014 along with the registration fee. If you have attended one of our shows at the expo center, you know that being inside during the hot days of August is pretty nice. We are hoping that no matter the weather for May, that being inside will be just as good.

Toad Suck Car Club awarded Clay Walker with their annual tool scholarship along with Cantrell Service Center in North Little Rock and NAPA.
Clay is a 2013 graduate of Vilonia High School and Auto Collision program at Conway Area Career Center. He will be attending the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton in the fall and majoring in Auto Collision and Repair with a minor in Business. Clay would like to someday have a classic automobile to restore one day.
The car club tries to award one tool scholarship each year with the funds raised from the car shows that are hosted in Conway. They pick a student that is a graduate of a Faulkner County school and the Auto Collision program at Conway Area Career Center. They also need to be enrolled and accepted into the Auto Collision program at UACCM. The value of the scholarship is approximately $1500.
Sarah Keathley, general manager at Cantrell Service Center was in attendance to help present the tools. Keathley donated the service cart and NAPA donated a few of the tools, with TSCC taking care of the balance of the tools. Cantrell Service Center is a NAPA Auto Care Center.
Keathley said she is excited when a young person is interested in entering the automotive care industry. She also invited Clay to visit the shop and meet their technicians.
